Departments:
Plans are underway for the 2012 HVVFA Convention & Parades. The community of
South Glens Falls and the South Glens Falls Fire Department have agreed to be
our host. The Convention will be held at the South Glens Falls Firehouse
Station #2 on Route 197. The Auxiliary Convention will be held at the Fort
Edward Firehouse on Broadway in Fort Edward.
There is no host hotel for the convention this year. Several departments have
decided to stay in South Glens Falls, but the majority of the attendees will
once again stay in Lake George. I encourage each of you to start making your
arrangements for hotel / motel rooms immediately. Hopefully you will find a
facility of your liking, but if you have any trouble, don’t hesitate to contact
us for assistance.
This year’s convention will start on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. The theme for
Friday’s parade is “It’s Mardi Gras Time.” Line up will be at 5 PM and step off
will be at 7 PM. Saturday will once again feature a Full Dress Parade, with
line up beginning at noon and step off starting at 1 pm. A parade map will be
mailed with your confirmation.
Enclosed you will find two applications, one for each parade. Fill them out
with as much detail as possible and PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY. The sooner you
return your applications the earlier in the lineup you will be. Deadline for
all parade applications is April 1, 2012.
As more information is available it will appear on the convention page of the
HVVFA website at
www.HVVFA.org. If you don’t find what you need there, feel free to
